Resource bank

Welcome to the resource bank home page. This section of the website contains various useful links to articles, papers and other documents that planners will find valuable when assessing planning applications for renewable energy developments, as well as when formulating planning policy for their local authority.

Select one of the areas from the list which you are interested in. Within each area, there will be sub-sections to choose from which contains specific information on various subjects. For example, if you first select ‘wind’, and then ‘noise’ you will be able to choose from a number of documents related to wind turbines and noise.

The resource bank is categorised to easily show the origin of the content. Within these categories documents are listed alphabetically by title. Further information on how this categorisation was devised, and for expanded definitions of the categories can be obtained by visiting our contact us page and sending an email.

New material is being added to the resource bank all the time. However a small number of sub-sections are currently unpopulated. If you are aware of a useful resource that hasn’t been included, please visit our contact us page and email the details with a link to the relevant resource.
